Showcasing the European Film Festival from Romania at LET’S CEE
The European Film Festival annually presents a selection of the latest and most interesting European productions. In 2016 it will celebrate its 20th anniversary, and is therefore one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in Romania. The opening film, Back Home will be presented at the festival, as part of LET´S CEE. On October 10th from 6pm everyone will have the opportunity to learn about the success story of the European Film Festival at the Strandbar Herrmann. The festival organizers and Romanian filmmakers - including Andrei Cohn and Ada Solomon - as well as representatives of EUNIC (European Union National Institutes for Culture), will be reviewing the last 19 festival years, while enjoying lilac wine and a Romanian buffet. They will show selected festival trailers by famous directors such as Cristi Puiu and Radu Jude. A special highlight will be an auction of original props used in the film Aferim! with the proceeds going to the research project, "500 years of slavery" which deals with the historical enslavement of the Roma people. Free admission!
