Memory and future

The autobiographical family portrait Family Meals by Croatian director Dana Budisavljević drew a lot of attention after its premiere at the goEast Festival of Middle and Eastern European Film in Wiesbaden and will be shown during the LET’S CEE Film Festival as well. The film will be presented as part of the event line „Documentary Award ‚Remembrance and Future‘ On the Road“ by goEast in cooperation with the Foundation ‘Remembrance, Responsibility and Future’. This documentary award is given to film directors who take a critical stance towards societal developments and their causes in their respective countries and show cross-border perspectives. This helps promote exceptional work. ‘Critical and engaging documentaries not only provide an insight into societies and the reality of people’s lives. They are an exceptionally well suited medium for creating public attention and awareness for themes concerning societal policy, history, and human  rights’, says Dr. Martin Salm, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation ‘Remembrance, Responsibility and Future’.
