Synopsis

The already tense family circumstances are heavily tested when the parents discover that David is making money by smuggling refugees across the Hungarian border.

She is reunited with her best friend Ana who now has only eyes for a boy. Julija deals with her jealousy the only way she knows how: with violence.

Seryozha lives with his mother in a village on the icy Russian coast, where people live off fishing or the oil business. News of Seryozha’s brother’s death reaches the family. Thus, the young man heads off with a coffin to pick up his brother’s corpse.

THEY COME FROM THE CENTER OF THE WORLD. MCD 2017 | 16 min. | Spanish, Macedonian, Chinese with Engl. sub. | Dina Duma. I dream about the beast that lives at the bottom of the lake. Only few people have seen it. The air freezes when it is near you because its heart is too cold.

THE SECOND BULLET / İkinci güllə. AZE 2017 | 19 min. | Azerbaijanian with Engl. sub. | von Natig Rasul. A wedding celebration is under way. The male attendants go wild. After the wedding night two rifle shots traditionally signify a successful wedding night and the intact virginity of the bride. But when the rifle malfunctions and only one bullet is fired, the bride’s virtue is scrutinised by the whole village.
