Brooding heat, shabbiness, unsettled social problems and hierarchical trench warfares: this is the city of Tűzkő, somewhere in today’s Hungary. There arrives Misi to take over the inherited house and belongings of his grandfather. Miri is a disillusioned and frustrated young man, who is constantly on the run and doesn’t seem to be able to find his place in the world – neither concerning the work place nor his private relationships. He decides to renovate and rebuild his grandfather’s house with the help of some friends, which troubles the interests of the local ruler. Serious conflicts are inevitable. Land, love and life are at stake. Misi turns into a coyote in every aspect. Blood, sweat and tears resonate the excitement of a true, classic western atmosphere. But what we see is a real eastern from Hungary with downright extraordinary images. Director Márk Kostyál, who comes from the field of advertising, also insisted on being the cameraman for his film. He used a anamorphic lens, that produces amazing wide-angle and extreme high-resolution pictures. Coyote is an astonishing feature debut.
