A young man awakes on a park bench in the middle of a busy square without knowing where, – and not least important, – who he actually is. Did he just wake up from a dream, or is he still inside one? Whether it is reality or imagination, one thing seems to be dead certain: He is being hunted by four masked men, who follow him wherever he goes. On his aimless flight through inner city streets, the targeted man finally encounters the doctor who apparently has caused his loss of memory. But he won’t or can’t tell the nameless protagonist who ordered the relentless chase after him. So he leaves with more questions than answers. He realises in the end that he needs to break out of this time warp he seems to be in, by all means necessary. In order to recover his identity and finally find peace, he dares to go on a dangerous journey into his unknown past. In the best tradition of American mind game movies, Director Filip Kovačević uses his brilliant debut film to take us on a furious action trip, which in no time not only absorbs its protagonist, but also the audience in a risky open-ended game. With remarkably confident aesthetics and sophisticated narration, this existentialist thrillercan be considered as the Serbian answer to Christopher Nolan’s Memento. (1,271)
