Knights sneaking through a dark forest are attacked by enemy forces. The fight is brutal. All of a sudden, an express train thunders past. Quickly it becomes clear that we are in a LARP – a live-action role-playing game. 17-year-old Sergiusz is completely wrapped up in the game. Feeling misunderstood at home, with his father showing nothing but contempt for his hobby, he enjoys being a hero in the game. His costume provides for a skin he is comfortable in. When his heroic deeds in the imaginary world become part of his real life, you would expect an act of emancipation. But everyday life follows different rules. Kordian Kadziela tells us about the (im)possibility to escape from reality in a patriarchal family.
