Kacper is a teacher of History at a High School in Poland. As a devoted man and an educator to the core, it is his commitment and a personal sense of duty to lead the quite difficult and troubled pupils to graduation, and help through precarious events of their lives. As is the case with rebellious Klara who is burdened with a dark secret she has to struggle with. However, when faced with a problem himself upon being diagnosed with a genetic disorder that might cause blindness, Kacper neither admits to needing help, nor does he inform the school administration. The only one who is let into the secret is his best friend Wiktor. Afraid of not being able anymore to perform the work he is passionate about, Kacper tries hard to hide the worsening state of his health. It is only later that he learns about how the loss of vision might actually give him new possibilities and teach him something about life. The second feature film of the director and scriptwriter Jacek Lusiński shows not just the fate of the diseased protagonist performed by the highly praised Polish actor Andrzej Chyra, but rather tells about a path of inner transformation and growth all the way from destructive frustration and hopelessness to a newfound optimism and strength. This moving drama is based on a true story.
